Binding Sélection d'Artistes

The Binding Sélection d’Artistes is a programme to promote and support art exhibitions in leading Swiss museums and exhibition spaces. These solo shows are devoted to a contemporary artist who is either a resident of Switzerland or whose main work is done here. The Binding Sélection d’Artistes targets artists of over 40 years of age, who, in contrast to younger colleagues, have limited access to funds.

The programme is financed by the Sophie and Karl Binding Foundation in Basel. This non-profit foundation supports projects connected with the environment, social concerns and art all over Switzerland. The Foundation has developed this promotional programme in collaboration with important museums and exhibition venues, and has been funding it since 2004. To date, the Binding Sélection d’Artistes has supported the exhibitions listed below with substantial contributions.

These exhibitions present either a retrospective or an overview of the artist’s work, with catalogues that provide an in-depth look at his or her oeuvre. The Foundation bases its decisions on suggestions by museums. Direct application to the Sophie and Karl Binding Foundation is not possible.
