RAMM:ΣLL:ZΣΣ „1985“

In Spring 1985 the gallery invited the master writer, hip-hop musician and actor to Zurich to create his show on site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjHtsudx3gk  Rammellzee's thinking was based on his dissatisfaction with tainted language and the restoration of the communication system of an assumed earlier time in which there was no breach between the visual and the verbal. His desire was to crack closed systems such as games and definitions and to operate outside them.    In the early 1980s Rammellzee appointed head of a Bronx-based writing gang. In the “style wars“ between rival groups his position was clear: he believed that an early period of emotional spraying was at an end and that an era of consolidation was under way.  To describe a adjusted “Wild Style“, he developed a range of variations: Gothic Futurism, Ikonoklast Panzerism, Futur Futurism, Ransom Note, Bands of Steel, Luxturnomere.
