Stand for Democracy: Myanmar is a photographic exhibition of the artist and human rights activist Marcelo Brodsky (1954, Buenos Aires, Argentina). On the occasion of the exhibition at Photobastei in Zurich, Brodsky’s thirteen new artworks - which rely on photographs taken in Myanmar (also known as Burma) by activists and photojournalists - are presented in dialogue with video works and a performance by Ko Latt, Yadanar Win, Lily and Zoncy who represent the new generation of Burmese artists and whose work reveal elements of Myanmar s social, political, and cultural narrative. The exhibition offers to the public an engaging visual experience of what has been happening in Myanmar and triggers a sense of collective responsibility and need for action.
