Lesley Schiff: Pioneer of the Art of "Painting with Light"

Dear Community,

I am pleased to introduce you to the remarkable artist Lesley Schiff, whose works are currently on display at the Arte Wallhoff Gallery.

"PHOTO-PRINTS" – The Art of Painting with Light

Lesley Schiff, born in 1951 in the USA, is a visionary artist from New York. She has harnessed laser technology to create her unique artworks, pioneering new territory in the world of fine art. Her innovative creations have made her the first artist to have such work acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Exhibition: May 30th – June 30th

Visit the exhibition "Money Talks & Face Value" and experience the works of Lesley Schiff from 1998.

Artworks and Inspiration

Originally a painter, Schiff now uses the photocopier as an artistic tool. She describes it as follows: "I never intended to stop painting. I just decided to start painting with a modern tool. Working with the color laser printer keeps you in your culture. It's like America: plugged in, electronic, direct, visual, spontaneous, immediate."
Schiff's work encompasses cycles of life, including themes of man, woman, child, civilization, nature, and technology. Her recent works challenge the viewer to understand and reinvent concepts of eye levels and perspectives.
In "Money Talks" and "Face Value," Schiff juxtaposes photographs of scenes from various countries with banknotes to highlight the power of money. Using a stained-glass effect, she portrays the best achievements and intentions of humanity. These works also pay tribute to artists, engravers, and designers who have given currency both monetary and educational value through their depictions.
We warmly invite you to visit this exceptional exhibition and discover the inspiring works of Lesley Schiff.

Best regards,

Arte Wallhoff
