Das Zitat kennt jeder, doch wer hat schon Gertrude Stein gelesen und weiss, woher das Diktum stammt? Manchmal macht man interessante Begegnungen. So unlängst in der Galerie und Buchhandlung Barbara Wien, Berlin, beim Durchblättern von Publikationen von Gertrude Stein. Die Suche nach dem Originaltext war zwar vergeblich, doch der dort ebenfalls herumstöbernde Künstler, Tomas Schmit, hat für uns recherchiert und diesen Brief geschickt:
