Rachel Whiteread im Kunsthaus
Die kolossale Skulptur «Untitled (Upstairs)», 2001, im Erdgeschoss des Kunsthauses irritiert die Sinne: Die Gipsskulptur hat zwar die Gestalt von Treppe und Eingangsbereich des Gebäudes, das die Künstlerin Rachel Whiteread kürzlich im Londoner Bezirk Whitechapel kaufte. Doch die Stiegen lassen sich nicht erklimmen. Der Fuss hat kaum Platz auf dem Tritt, die Stufen sind proportional zu hoch.
