Diese Gemengelage ist stets interpretationsbedürftig. Nicht nur Kunstschaffende erhalten an der Biennale Venedig einen Auftritt, auch das Selbstverständnis der Nationen. Ein Rundgang durch die Giardini vermittelt einen Eindruck von der schweizerischen und anderen nationalen Verfasstheiten.
