Die Malerei von Pia Fries bildet nichts ab und illustriert nichts. Ob sie deswegen auch keine Geschichten erzählt? Sie tut es. Allerdings handelt es sich um ihre eigene Geschichte, um ihre Entstehung, ihre Eigenarten. Sie greift damit weit über sich selbst hinaus. Mit ihrer Malerei nimmt uns die Künstlerin mit auf eine Reise, deren Ziel unbekannt ist.
