Julie Mehretu bei carlier | gebauer
In Europa bekannt geworden ist Julie Mehretu durch ihren Auftritt bei der Istanbul Biennale 2003. Dieses Jahr wird die junge Malerin und Zeichnerin in New York an der Whitney Biennale teilnehmen. Ihre erste Einzelausstellung in Deutschland findet jetzt in der Berliner Galerie carlier | gebauer statt. Dort zeigt sie die für sie typische subjektive Kartografie – erstmals allerdings in einem spannenden Dialog von Zeichnung, Malerei und Wandmalerei in einem Raum.
