„Lucid Journal: Girl life in EU“ delves into the historical and cultural backdrop of post-Soviet Latvia by weaving together fictional stories with diaristic reflections on the author’s formative years in the early 2000s. Departing from traditional writing conventions and often adorned with naive decorative motifs, the text digs into themes of class, gender, and body ideals. It stands as an intimate yet potent exploration of actual girl life in the EU, reaching beyond individual narratives to confront broader structures and political dimensions.

Tereza Glazova (b.1996 in Riga) is an artist and writer based in Zürich. For some of her work, she employs the pseudonym Tereza Auslettland. Her work tackles the connections between contemporary identity-defining behaviors—such as fashion choices and musical preferences—and the prevailing cultural zeitgeist. Her video works circle around the elusive idea of authenticity and the inherent challenge of depicting “real emotion” in film. Glazova is the co-founder of the art space Wynx Club and engages in sound projects using aliases Mia Thermopolis and just a girl.
