Masken begegnet man in Venedig auf Schritt und Tritt: dieses Jahr auch auf der Biennale. Allein im italienischen Pavillon ist man mitunter regelrecht von Masken umstellt. Da verwundert es kaum, wenn sich gleich zwei Ausstellungen nur diesem Thema widmen: Im Kunstmuseum Bonn und nun im Kunsthaus Aarau wird das globale Revival der Maske untersucht.
