Seine Leidenschaft galt der Kunst. Er bestimmte, einen Teil seiner Sammlung in der Zürcher Kronenhalle zu belassen. Sein Vermächtnis ist Kulisse im Restaurationsbetrieb und zugleich Massstab eines Qualitätsbewusstseins, das Gustav Zumsteg auch seiner Mutter verdankte: Hulda. Sie bleibt.
