Group show, curated by Andrew Bick

“Conceptually and visually, the exhibition is a garden of unexpected viewpoints, juxtapositions, and parings, where relationships between artists’ work and each other remain continually in play. Therefore, the question of how connections between artists work is something to watch rather than answer. It means that a dead artist can celebrate the practice of a living one and that living artists no longer must hide their knowledge of dead ones to claim originality. There is no premium on originality because everyone involved knows that to claim to be original is like lying to get elected in politics, a temporary position that will be found out sooner or later. A garden is, by contrast, a generous space. Things in it compost in order to create new growth. Growth itself is both seasonal and evergreen, all things at the same time, bound to a cycle controlled by the arc of the sun (…).” Andrew Bick, curator of Design for a Garden.

The exhibition includes, among others: Christian Andersson, Andrew Bick, Jeffrey Bligh, Elena Damiani, A K Dolven, Marianne Eigenheer, Athene Galiciadis, Tanya Goel, Sara Haq, Anthony Hill, Armin Hofmann, Emma Kunz, Mike Meiré, Landon Metz, Karim Noureldin, Sarah Oppenheimer, Ursula Reuter Christiansen, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon, Jeffrey Steele, Gillian Wise, and Claudia Wieser.
