The exhibition BREATH OF LIFE will focus on yidaki and contemporary creation from Arnhem Land. Yidaki, more commonly known as didgeridoo, iconic Aboriginal instrument, remains unknown in its deep cultural meanings despite its international popularity. This exhibition seeks to acquaint a European public with this captivating music instrument, which is at least 1,500 years old, as well as with the people and the unique culture who produced it and with the land where it originated. More than just an emblematic wooden instrument, yidaki is a cultural and spiritual marker, intimately connected to the story of a region and a people (Yolŋu).

Various installations using new media will offer a unique experience amongst the vibrant sounds of yidaki, ceremonial dances and songs, exploring the important places of the Yolŋu people. The visitors will also have the opportunity to discover the knowledge of one of the greatest masters of yidaki, Djalu Gurruwiwi, through projections.
