E X I L E

EXILE is an exhibition about the state of being barred from one's native country, typically for political, social or punitive reasons.

Originating from Lebanon and Syria, the five participating levantine artists are all in a state of exile for various reasons. 
In some of the cases, exile is a penal expulsion from one's native country for political reasons. Some took refuge after a devastating war, others are in an prolonged absence from their homeland under either the compulsion of circumstance or the rigors of existential high purpose.

In this exhibition, the artists are expressing their view on exile and how it was projected in their work.
