WHITEOUT

In collaboration with Zürcher Theater Spektakel, Roehrs & Boetsch brings to Zurich WHITEOUT, the world's first virtual reality group exhibition on contemporary performance art. Originally developed for the NRW-Forum, New Scenario's eighth exhibition project premiered on the 18th of July in Düsseldorf. The show features artists Maria Hassabi, Christian Falsnaes and Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi performing in a virtual space.

Named after a typical winterly weather condition in which visibility is affected by snow and fog, to the point of dissolving any spatial reference in a condition of diffuse white light, WHITEOUT interprets the virtual space as a white void that becomes the setting for the performers. Using VR glasses, visitors gain access to the space and virtually walk for a close encounter with the special virtual recordings of the works, experiencing performative visual arts in an unprecedent manner.
