IMPETO

At TART Rachele Monti will show the newest developments of her most recent project “Impeto”. Using the photographic medium as a starting point, images are altered with an almost impulsive and repetitive gesture. Only fragments of the photographs remain perceivable under various layers of manual distortion. Thanks to these additions the image not only represents a body, but also has a body of its own. Its surface is a skin to be explored, and a portal to unspoken desires and fears. This play on textures allows the work to become vibrant, while a discharge seems to happen through the pores of the used materials. At TART Rachele Monti will be creating a contrasting space, where the intimacy of her  work will invite the viewer to become a voyeur of both the visible and the unseen.
