Ingrid Wildi Merino was born in Santiago de Chile on September 19, 1963. In the 1980s she migrated with her family to Switzerland. Since 2016 she lives and works in Santiago de Chile and is an artist, author, video essayist, curator and teacher at different universities. Her artistic practice focuses on research and involves her fieldwork on the results of colonization and globalization. These issues, approached from a critical decolonialized perspective, are examined with a focus on narrative and visuality, by means of interviews as one of its main aesthetic tools. Her proposal takes the form of a video-essay, a piece focused on language and individual and collective memory exercises that reclaim the personal and life stories of different subjects marked by their experiences. Her work is articulated on the effect of the colonial system in its neoliberal phase and its violence and exploitation of both the territory and its people.
